Openblocks hang glider mod#Ender chest mod became very popular, mojang completely independently came up with a chest whose contents are accessible form multiple locations with the same name. What is (or was) unique is calling it an ender chest. Yes the idea of having an inventory you can access from multiple locations is not unique. You know, a biome that does not exist in the real world at all, but it was a novel aspect to BoP. and then after Biomes O' Plenty created an ice spike biome and became popular, what did mojang add? why, an ice spike biome. Only after redpower became super popular and added jungle trees did mojang decide "hey, lets add jungles and jungle trees." Then after extrabiomesXL became very notable for it's striking mesa biomes among others, did mojang decide "hey lets add mesa biomes, oh and 2x2 conifer trees lol". It's the timing for one thing - look at jungle trees. They convinced Mojang to add it and then handed them their code package. They did everything, the code, the interaction considerations, making sure it doesn't break other things, etc. It's worth mentioning that Slime Blocks were originally coded from scratch by the ZipKrowd, and vanilla players like Panda4994 and JL2579. push&shove was made just before it was re-added ***: see /u/livefrmhollywood's comment about this: *: from comments **: was in old minecraft. Just thought this was interesting, and that some of you might find it mildly insightful. I'd also note that in most of these instances, the modded original was superior to the mojang implementation (in my opinion). To my knowledge the only features from mods which have appeared in the vanilla game for which Mojang has acknowledged the mod/mod author as inspiration have been the piston mod and mo' creatures.
